![]() usadeepsouth.com Czech Boy Supper by Floyd Shaman Here’s a Czech boy supper of sausage, apples, and sauerkraut, guaranteed to send you to bed happy. This is what you get and what you do with it all: One package of Kilbasa or such sausage Two apples, any kind One can of sauerkraut (We like the kind with carraway seeds but you can always add them.) Good pinch of brown sugar. 1/2 cup of water Cut the sausage length ways, then into pieces maybe two inches long. Put sausage in a large frying pan and brown--shouldn't need any grease, but if needed get you some. Cut apples into bite-size pieces. When sausage is brown, dump in the can of sauerkraut and then the apples. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top and add water. Turn down heat a bit and simmer covered. When the apples are cooked you can serve. Dark brown bread and butter goes good with it. Prior to his untimely death in 2005, Floyd Shaman, sculptor, resided in Cleveland, Mississippi, with his lovely wife Molly. Floyd was a brilliant artist and a dear friend to all.
